Be at least 17 years old.
Weigh 110 pounds or more.
Know the names of all medication taken
within the month prior to donating.
Bring identification (Red Cross blood donor
card or driver's license).
You Should:
Plan one hour and 15 minutes for donating blood.
Drink extra fluids (non-alcoholic).
Eat within 2-3 hours of donating.
Get a good night's sleep.
Know your Social Security number.
You Should not Donate Blood if you have:
Taken antibiotics within 48 hours of donating.
(Does not apply for antibiotic taken for acne,
except Accutane).
Taken Accutane within one month of donating blood.
Had a body piercing within one year unless under
sterile conditions.
Had tattos within one year of donating.
